Punch Needle Rug Hooking is a traditional North American craft that is having an exciting, modern resurgence! Traditionally used for making heirloom rugs for the home, this technique is now being applied in new and innovative ways across art, craft, décor and fashion.
In this workshop, you will be introduced to the basics of punch needle: an overview of tools and materials, how to punch easily and effectively, troubleshooting and finishing your work -- along with a whole bunch of tips and tricks along the way. You'll come away from this class with a small punched coaster in colors of your choice, info for how to hem your piece at home -- and the knowledge to create future pieces of any size.

A size 10 Regular Oxford Punch Needle and Gripper Strip Frame for use in this workshop (with the option to purchase supplies after the class)

Micah Clasper-Torch is a fiber artist and designer, a Certified Oxford Punch Needle Instructor and the founder of
Punch Needle World. She brings a unique perspective to Punch Needle that is both rooted in the history of the craft, and passionately invested in its current and future applications.
