Welcome about page

The Southern California Handweavers' Guild is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization founded in 1946. We generally meet on the second Saturday of the month at Valley Presbyterian Hospital's Health Education Center in Van Nuys (see map below). Activities include workshops, lectures, study groups, and field trips. We have a large library of books on weaving and fiber arts and a selection of looms that members may rent.

We do handweaving demonstrations at events around Southern California and organize service projects providing handwoven articles for charitable organizations. Once a year we hold a Weaving and Fiber Festival (WeFF) at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. WeFF hosts fiber arts vendors, offers workshops and demonstrations, and includes displays and a boutique of members' handwovens.
