FUN WITH FIBERWORKS – COMPUTER DRAFTING SOFTWARE

Take your weaving structures to new levels with the aid of weaving software. While the course will primarily focus on Fiberworks (Mac and PC compatible and available in a free demo version for the course), Shelly will discuss other options in the lecture portion of the meeting
In the one-afternoon workshop, Shelly will lead participants through twelve lessons on how to draft a drawdown, change colors, download WIF’s and then modify them. The group will also work with Network Drafts, Profile Drafts, changing Overshot to Crackle to Summer and Winter, designing name drafts. turning drafts, convert overshot to double weave and other tools.
Workshop participants will need to download Fiberworks (free demo available) before the workshop and bring their laptops to the meeting. Upon registration, Shelly will send out information on how to do so. Maximum participants 15.
Shelly Thompson holds a degree in Textile Chemistry from Cal State LA. She has been weaving for 25 years and is also a long-time SCHG Member. Shelly loves weaving structures and how fibers create beautiful textiles.
Remember to pack a lunch! We’ll be starting quite shortly after the meeting ends. Dress in layers since the meeting room can be chilly.
