SCHG Presents in June
Weave a Beautiful Scarf in One Day
With Anna Zinsmeister
Saturday, June 29, 2019
Registration closes June 17, 2019
THE WORKSHOP: If you want to try weaving just for fun to see how you like it (and we think you will!), then come to The Southern California Handweavers’ Guild “Weave a Scarf in a Day” workshop.
In this workshop, you will choose yarns from a variety of colors and textures with guidance from your workshop instructor, Anna Zinsmeister (a lifetime Guild member and weaving instructor). Anna will guide you in warping a rigid heddle loom - a good loom for first time weavers - and then guide you in efficient techniques to finish weaving your scarf by the end of the day!
ABOUT ANNA ZINSMEISTER: Alifetime member of the Southern California Handweavers’ Guild. She learned weaving in 1972 while attending Immaculate Heart College where she received her B.A. in art. She learned to spin on her own around 1978. Anna received a M.A. in Art with a textiles major in 1985 from California State University, Northridge. Anna has taught weaving at the Braille Institute in Los Angeles, the Pacific Asia Museum, the Autry Museum, local craft shops, and weaving groups in Southern California. Anna currently teaches both weaving and spinning privately, through the Burbank Park and Recreation Department.
